Arrival in Kozhikode | The Malabar Coast

Your tour begins in the beautiful Malabar Coast of Kozhikode (formerly Calicut), where upon arrival at the Kozhikode International Airport, you’ll be received by the staff of LIT.

Bekal | Drive

After breakfast, drive to Bekal on the western coastline of Kerala. 

Drive time: 4 hours/ 170 kms or 105 miles.

Relax and enjoy the rest of the evening on one of its stunning beaches.

Bekal is famous for its beaches (Bekal, Kappil, Redmoon, Fort Beach, Chembiriki), Forts (Bekal Fort, Chandragi Fort), and ancient temples.

You’ll spend the day enjoying and exploring all three.

Kannur | Drive

Drive to Kannur. Known for its beaches, forests, folk art, and loom industries.

Drive time: 2 Hrs/ 80 kms or 50 miles.

There is plenty to explore in Kannur on Day 5.

 – The lovely Payyambalam Beach.

– The Portuguese Angelo (Kannur) Fort: Built in 1505 by the first Portuguese Viceroy of India.

Thrissur | Drive

Drive to Thrissur. Prides itself as the cultural capital of Kerala. Houses prestigious centers of arts, music, and dance.

Drive time: 5 Hrs/ 200 kms or 125 miles.

Enjoy the beach and attractions of Thrissur: Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple, Our Lady of Dolours Basilica, and Paramekkavu Bhagavathi Temple.

Cochin | Spice War History

Drive to the port city of Cochin (Kochi). Drive time: 1.5 Hrs/ 80 kms or 50 miles.

Sightseeing in this important historical and cultural city that was the hub of the European Colonial Spice Wars.

Key attractions you will explore: Paradesi Synagogue, Santa Cruz Cathedral, Mattancherry Palace, Marine Drive, and the old marketplace of Cochin.

Drive to Mararikulam. 1 hour/ 40 kms or 25 miles.

Formerly a small fishing village, and now a bustling beach destination on the Arabian coast of Kerala, Marari palm-lined beaches and golden sands lure beach holiday lovers from all over India and beyond.

Marari | Pearl of the Alappuzha

Aside from the beach, you can explore the local temples (Shiva Temple), Apostle St. Thomas Pilgrim Center, and the 16th-century Dutch Palace. Be sure to visit the Chinese Fishing Nets on the coastline as well.

Varkala | Drive

Before it became a popular beach destination, for almost 2,000 years, the town of Varkala attracted devotees and pilgrims to its Janardana Swami Temple. Which is so important to the Hindu faith that the city is often described as Dakshin Kashi (Kashi of the South) —Kashi being the main temple of Varanasi.

Drive time: 3 Hrs/ 120 kms or 75 miles.
