Not just an average country India is a microcosm of vivid cultural diversity, it is a dizzyingly diverse and vast sub-continent of 1.4 billion people.

Standing the test of time since the beginning of civilization itself, India is a super civilization-state that is home to many great religious and spiritual traditions.

India comprises distinct geographical regions, sub-cultures, hundreds of languages, a myriad of tribes and mini-civilizations birthed by its majestic holy rivers like Ganga, Jamuna, Yamuna, Krishna, Godavari, Indus and Mahanadi.

An incessant kaleidoscope of natural landscapes and manmade endeavors, India is a ceaseless marvel.

The cliché “sensory overload” may be slightly overused to describe the country, but it does carry substantial weight as India unfolds before you, overwhelming you with all her larger-than-life hospitality, sights, sounds, colors, tastes, noise and never-ending hustle and bustle.
There is just so much to unpack in North India alone.

The splendor of the Taj Mahal, the tranquillity of the Golden Temple, the paradise-like Himalayan bliss of Kashmir, the regal old-world Rajputana charm of Rajasthan, the majesty of the Thar Desert, the serenity of Varanasi, the Mughal magnificence of Agra and Delhi, and exotic wildlife adventure and tiger safaris in its magical national parks.

You are going to need help to ensure you do not miss what matters the most.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can visit North India pretty much all year round.

But the most ideal time to visit the region is in winter (October to March), which is peak tourist season.

The weather is just perfect for travel and sightseeing with benign clear blue skies, gentle breeze and plenty of sunshine.

Temperature ranges from 10°c-28°C in the low-lying heartland of North India where most of the tourist attractions are located.

Monsoon season (July-September) is humid and sultry.

Mercury can get up to 40-45°C in peak summer months (April-June) but you can always find an escape in the Himalayan region in summer.

A typical North India tourist itinerary crisscrosses the Himalayas in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the historical marvels of Taj Mahal’s Agra, the Mughal attractions of Delhi, the Golden Temple in Punjab and the colorful regal state of Rajasthan.

It is a vast complex region. We recommend a stay of 7-10 days to make sure that you do not miss out on things that matter.

There are hundreds of tourist attraction in North India to choose from. Here is a region-wise select list of top destinations.

  • AGRA (Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri)
  • RAJASTHAN (“Paris of India” Jaipur, Jodhpur and “City of Lakes” Udaipur)
  • HIMALAYA (Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand)
  • PUNJAB ( Golden Temple, holiest Sikh site in Amritsar)
  • UTTER PRADESH (Varanasi, the holiest site of Hinduism)

All of North India is now connected by a network of world-class highways, railroad networks and air travel through regional and international airports.

You can get around everywhere just by road as well. But we recommend a mix of all three (road, train and air).

It is said that if you want to see heart of India, you have to take the Indian train that traverses through and connects its large urban nerve centers and rural outback.

We estimate a cost of $4000-5000 for a two-week trip if you are not looking to compromise on luxury and opulence.
